Ingredients
For the Cabbage Rolls:
- 1 large head of white cabbage (about 1.5 kg / 3 lbs)
- 500 g (1.1 lbs) ground meat (beef, pork, or a mix)
- 1 large onion, finely diced
- 1 large carrot, finely diced
- 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for sautéing)
For the Vegetable Bed:
- 2-3 medium potatoes (about 400g), thinly sliced
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, cut into strips
- 2-3 mushrooms, sliced
- 1 red onion, sliced
- 60 g (½ cup) canned corn, drained
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to taste
For Topping and Serving:
- 100 g (1 cup) grated Gouda or Mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh dill or parsley, chopped for garnish
