Tragic Crash Claims Life of “Call of Duty” Creator
A new video reveals the fatal car crash that killed Vincent Zampella, the co-creator of Call of Duty. Speed appears to have played a major role in the deadly accident.
High-Speed Crash Caught on Video
The footage, obtained by TMZ, shows a red Ferrari bursting out of a tunnel on the Angeles Crest Highway in Altadena, California. The sports car skids uncontrollably before smashing into concrete barriers along the edge of the road near the San Gabriel Mountains.

Fireball and Immediate Rescue
Seconds after the crash, a fireball engulfs the wrecked car. Bystanders rush to the scene, pulling one passenger from the burning vehicle. According to the California Highway Patrol, two people were in the car at the time: the passenger, who was ejected, and Zampella, who became trapped in the wreckage.
Although graphic images are not being shown, the video captures bystanders helping the passenger away from the flames. Skid marks and tire tracks litter the pavement, highlighting the high-speed chaos. Authorities note that this stretch of highway is infamous for dangerous driving stunts.
