Trump Visits Capitol Hill, Tears Into Republicans: ‘Don’t F*** Around’

President Donald Trump cautioned House Republicans against opposing his proposed ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill’ aimed at garnering support for it.

As reported by three individuals who requested anonymity due to the confidential nature of the discussions, President Donald Trump urged House Republicans to unite, set aside their reservations, and heed Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) in order to advance his domestic agenda.

He issued a distinct caution to Republicans that has caused frustration among some fiscal conservatives: ‘Do not interfere with Medicaid,’ as stated by two sources. While Trump addresses House Republicans on Capitol Hill, the White House is advocating for a compilation of ’20 reasons why Congress should rally behind’ his key legislative priorities.

Trump’s proposal aims to enact the most significant tax reduction in the history of the United States, while also delivering on his campaign commitments to eliminate taxes on tips and overtime.

He is vigorously advocating for the passage of this package in the House, despite the presence of dissenting Republican members. Trump has issued warnings of potential political repercussions for those Republicans who do not support the initiative.

Prior to his meeting with House Republicans, President Trump remarked that lawmakers are “not altering” Medicaid and encouraged them to eradicate “waste, fraud, and abuse” within the program.

The House funding proposal aims to reform Medicaid by introducing work requirements, which experts warn could result in the loss of benefits for millions and discourage others from enrolling.

Trump also cautioned the GOP members from blue states against being overly aggressive regarding the SALT deduction cap, as millions of Americans could potentially lose their health insurance if the current reconciliation agreement is approved.

White House spokesperson Kush Desai informed Axios’ Emily Peck that, “President Trump and Republicans are committed to safeguarding and maintaining Medicaid for the Americans for whom the program was designed to serve: pregnant women, children, individuals with disabilities, and seniors.”

However, this list from the White House does not include lower-income working-age individuals without children who gained Medicaid coverage due to the expansion under the Affordable Care Act.

Prior to the meeting, Trump informed reporters at the Capitol that the legislation must be enacted to offer greater support and assistance to the American populace. “Mr. President, what is your message to those who are hesitant?” a reporter inquired.

“Well, it is not merely a matter of hesitation. Our party is remarkably unified. I do not believe we have ever experienced such unity.

There are individuals who desire certain provisions that I may not favor or that they will not receive, but I am confident that we will achieve significant success — not by chance, but through our exceptional talent. This individual has performed admirably as speaker,” Trump responded.

We had a narrow majority of one vote, and we were just one heart attack away from losing control of the House. Currently, we have a majority of seven, which is significant, as we have successfully won several elections, and we anticipate winning many more. Our economy is thriving. We have extracted $5.1 trillion from the Middle East, not billion, but trillion, as you may have noticed. They are investing even more than that, including 180 wide-body Boeing aircraft. The levels of spending are unprecedented.

Typically, when a president travels, it results in a financial loss; however, during our trip, we managed to secure $5.1 trillion. Such an occurrence is unprecedented. This is merely the beginning. I believe our party is very united. The Senate is performing exceptionally well, and John Thune is doing an outstanding job. We are working on a significant piece of legislation, which I believe will be the largest bill ever passed, and it is imperative that we complete it. It will provide substantial tax cuts, significant incentives, and extensive reductions in regulations that have been detrimental.
